Description
Examines 3 rural sites in North Carolina and Tennessee that implemented services to assist people with substance use disorders (SUDs) being released from the jail system back into the community to address their treatment needs, reduce recidivism, and support their recovery. Describes how efforts at each site were aligned with the Sequential Intercept Model (SIM) at Intercept 4 for individuals with behavioral health disorders who are returning to the community after incarceration. Program activities were developed as part of Rural Responses to the Opioid Epidemic (RROE) project.
