Product of the Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Use Program (COSSUP) funded by BJA.
Description
Examines 3 rural sites in Washington, Massachusetts, and Kentucky that implemented services to assist people with substance use disorders (SUDs) already in the jail system, connect them to treatment, support their transition back into the community, and reduce recidivism. Describes how efforts at each site were aligned with the Sequential Intercept Model (SIM) at Intercept 3 for individuals with behavioral health disorders who are held in jail before and during their trials. Program activities were developed as part of Rural Responses to the Opioid Epidemic (RROE) project.
