Description

Examines 3 rural sites in Arizona, New York, and Pennsylvania that implemented services to reduce the number of arrests of people with substance use disorders (SUDs) and connect them with SUD treatment. Describes how efforts at each site were aligned with the Sequential Intercept Model (SIM) at Intercept 1 when law enforcement or first responders engage with an individual with a behavioral health disorder. Program activities were developed as part of Rural Responses to the Opioid Epidemic (RROE) project.
