Description
Examines 3 rural sites in South Carolina, Kansas, and Florida that implemented services to reduce the number of arrests of people with substance use disorders (SUDs) and connect them with SUD treatment. Describes how efforts at each site were aligned with the Sequential Intercept Model (SIM) at Intercept 0 to divert individuals with behavioral health issues prior to any involvement with the criminal justice system. Program activities were developed as part of Rural Responses to the Opioid Epidemic (RROE) project.
