Description

Offers training and technical assistance to enhance the infrastructure and capacity of states, tribes, health systems, colleges and universities, and other organizations to carry out suicide prevention activities and programs. Promotes the implementation of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' National Strategy for Suicide Prevention to help communities reduce suicide deaths for at-risk populations.

What This Program Offers

Suicide Prevention Resource Center (SPRC) can provide:

  • Customized technical assistance consultations to support suicide prevention efforts
  • In-person trainings as well as online courses, virtual learning labs, micro-learning, video series, and live and on-demand webinars
  • Effective Suicide Prevention Model designed to help develop and implement suicide prevention efforts in any setting
  • Best practices registry cataloging programs, interventions, and frameworks reviewed by experts to ensure the most current guidance on preventing suicide
  • Resources and information for each state and territory, including contacts, statewide prevention plans, and state/community suicide prevention organizations
  • Support and promotion of the Zero Suicide Initiative for suicide prevention in health and behavioral health care systems
  • Resource library with a variety of publications and materials on suicide and suicide prevention
  • Newsletters, highlights, and success stories from innovative suicide prevention programs

Who Can Receive Services from This Program

Eligible participants are states, tribes, colleges and universities, health systems, and other organizations and settings that operate suicide prevention programs and activities or that serve populations at risk for suicide, as well as SAMHSA suicide prevention grantees.
