Description
Provides training and technical assistance to communities to enhance their ability to respond to individuals in the criminal justice system with mental and/or co-occurring substance use disorders. Focuses on developing and implementing best practices and policies designed to divert people from the criminal justice system and connect them to treatment and other support services.
What This Program Offers
Center for Justice and Mental Health Partnerships can provide:
- Customized technical assistance offered in a range of formats, including virtual and in-person consultation, e-mail, connections with subject matter experts, and more
- Peer learning opportunities with other jurisdictions that have implemented successful strategies and programs
- Live webinars and other virtual events
- Resources, publications, newsletters on a variety of topics related to the intersection of justice, mental health, and substance use disorders

Eligible applicants include:
- State, local, and tribal governments
- Criminal justice agencies
- Nonprofit behavioral health organizations and other service providers
