Description
Serves as a Rural Opioid Technical Assistance Regional Center (ROTA-R) in New England. Provides support, technical assistance, and naloxone training to address substance use disorder (SUD) and overdose throughout rural areas in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

The University of Rhode Island (URI) Community First Responder Program ROTA-R can provide:
- Seminars
- Training and technical assistance
- Continuing education opportunities for healthcare professionals on substance use disorder (SUD)
- Education and resources to support Narcan distribution for harm reduction organizations, SUD outreach centers, community centers, faith-based organizations, and other
Who Can Receive Services from This Program
Eligible participants are healthcare providers, local community leaders, and organizations addressing or seeking to address SUD in their communities.

Application
There is no application process to receive assistance. State-specific naloxone training is available on the program website.
