Description
Offers training and technical assistance to mentoring practitioners and programs seeking to implement and operate mentoring programs to achieve positive outcomes for justice-involved youth. Provides youth mentors with information, tools, program, and training materials to support the use of evidence-based practices and innovative models designed to increase the quality and effectiveness of various program types, including group, peer, school-based, or web-based mentoring. Promotes mentoring as an important approach to support youth safety and well-being, prevent or decrease their involvement with the justice system, and reduce crime.

National Mentoring Resource Center can provide:
- Customized technical assistance from local or regional providers
- In-person and online training opportunities
- Evidence reviews evaluating mentoring programs and practices, including models focused on specific youth populations
- Resources and research on program management, policies and procedures, recruitment and marketing, mentees and families, and more
- Publications detailing current standards for creating and sustaining quality youth mentoring programs
- Learning hub with a wide range of tools, products, media, and training materials for youth mentoring practitioners
- E-learning orientations to start or support youth mentoring programs
- Information on Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) mentoring initiatives, including available funding opportunities
Who Can Receive Services from This Program
Mentoring practitioners and programs seeking to develop, implement, or sustain a youth mentoring program are eligible to receive assistance.
