Rural Community Toolbox: Funding & Resources for Rural Communities to Address Substance Misuse
The Rural Community Toolbox: Funding & Resources for Rural Communities to Address Substance Misuse project, or the Rural Community Toolbox, ended April 2025. This website featured federal resources, programs, and funding to help support rural communities addressing substance use disorder (SUD), and a wide range of issues related to substance use impacting individuals, families, and communities. The website provided access to an Overdose Mapping Tool developed by the NORC Walsh Center for Rural Health Analysis, Starting Point Guides, and funding and information resources.
The Rural Community Toolbox website was operated by the University of North Dakota Center for Rural Health. Funding for the project came from a partnership between the Bureau of Justice Assistance, Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
