Description

Supports state rural transit assistance programs (RTAPs) and addresses the training and technical assistance needs of rural and tribal transit operators to help establish safe and efficient public transportation services across the nation. Aims to increase access to jobs, healthcare, education, shopping, and other activities in rural areas; coordinate transit services; and develop a national information database on the rural transportation industry.

  • Information resources such as technical briefs, topic guides, best practices spotlights, and transportation-related research
  • Interactive virtual training
  • A directory of trainers available to hire for in-person training in different regions
  • Website applications designed to help meet the needs of transit organizations by assisting with cost allocations, building routes and schedules, and procurement processes
  • Toolkits that provide comprehensive information and guidance on transportation topics
  • Webinars
  • Peer roundtable discussions and other peer networking opportunities
