Purpose
Provides funding and technical assistance to support tribes in planning, implementing, and enhancing adult treatment courts, including healing to wellness courts (HTWC), veteran's treatment courts (VTC), driving while intoxicated (DWI) courts, and other treatment focused courts or court dockets. Promotes the use of the treatment court model to reduce recidivism, increase access to treatment and recovery supports, and prevent overdose for people involved in the criminal justice system
Program funds may be used for:
- Salary and fringe benefits for positions to support the design and implementation of the program and oversee staff
- Implementation of core activities to plan, implement, and enhance treatment court programs to provide increased access to substance use and mental health services for the target population
- Administrative, management, and operational activities that support the court and treatment and services for participants
- Equipment and supplies including computer hardware/software, data management systems, urine screen analysis supplies/equipment, overdose prevention supplies, such as naloxone, cell phones, telephones, printers, copiers, and office supplies
- Strategic planning to increase coordination with nontribal agencies/organizations, comprehensively address alcohol and substance use disorder-related crime, or address a specific part of the tribal justice system
- Travel expenses for costs related to relevant purpose area activities and regional, national, or strategic planning trainings

Eligible applicants include:
- Federally recognized Indian tribes, including any Alaska Native village or regional or village corporation
- Consortia consisting of 2 or more federally recognized Indian tribes

Applications must be submitted electronically through a 2-step process:
- Step 1: Applicants will submit an SF-424 and an SF-LLL in grants.gov by the March 18, 2025 deadline.
- Step 2: Applicants will submit the full application, including attachments, in the JustGrants grants management system by the March 25, 2025 deadline.
