HHS Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE) Funding and Resources

Describes the results of an environmental scan study on mobile medication unit (MMU) implementation operated by opioid treatment programs (OTPs) since July 2021, after the end of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) moratorium on approving new MMUs. Also shares findings from key informant interviews with policy experts and individuals involved with MMU implementation, including MMUs serving rural populations, about challenges and opportunities to providing and expanding MMU services.
